Data Privacy Notice

The Data Privacy Notice (the “Privacy Notice”) governs the processing of Customers’ personal data by Phillip Bank Plc. (the “Bank”) in accordance with Cambodia’s Law on Banking and Financial Institutions and other applicable laws related to the personal data.

The term “Processing” refers to any operation or set of operations which may be performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means or non-automated means, including but not limited to collection, recording, organization, storage, alteration, retrieval, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination, erasure, and destruction. The purpose of the Privacy Notice is to reaffirm the Bank’s commitment to safeguarding the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the personal data disclosed by customers to the Bank.

Personal Data Collected

Personal Data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, residential address, nationality, government issued identifiers, photographs, contact details, bank account, credit history, as well as biometric information or other information related to an individual’s identity (the “information”).
Personal data of customers is collected and/or accumulated from:

  • The information that is collected by the Bank will originate from the products or services that the customers apply for or inquire about.
  • The Bank may also gather and retain additional information while the customers use the products and services.
  • Any other information collected where the Bank requires and has obtained the customers’ consent.

Processing of Personal Data

The customer’s information held by the Bank shall, under no circumstance, be processed by any other organizations or external parties, except as allowed for the following:

  • For the purpose of the Bank’s processing and business expansion, to provide a better service to customers, your information may be disclosed to the Bank’s subsidiaries, branches, agents, advertisements, subcontractors, or third-party service providers that assist or work for the Bank.
  • Compulsory disclosure to supervisory authorities, auditors, provisional administrators, liquidators, jurisdictional court, or as required by law and/or regulations.

Customers’ Rights:

  • Before processing the information, customers shall be notified of the purpose(s) for which their information will be used or disclosed.
  • Customers are entitled to request information regarding the accessing and processing of their personal information.
  • Customers have the right to restrict the processing of their information by requesting the Bank to restrict such processing of their information in a reasonable manner.
  • Customers may request to correct and/or update their information.
  • Customers may request their information to be removed; however, the information shall be retained regardless due to the requirement of the relevant regulations.

Internal Security Measures:

The Bank implements appropriate security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Physical security measures: Secure facilities and access controls.
  • Technical security measures: Encryption, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
  • Organizational security measures: Internal policy, employee training, background checks and regular security audits.

Changes to the Privacy Notice:

The Bank reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, and/or update this Privacy Notice, and any such modifications, alterations, or updates will be effective upon the posting of the revised Privacy Notice. If there are any significant changes to the Privacy Notice, the Bank shall use any reasonable means to inform customers.
