Virtual Mastercard Security Tips

Although it is the responsibility of our customers to be cautious about all kinds of ever-changing cybersecurity threats, Phillip Bank would like to share with you some card payment security tips. We hope that these tips will help reduce your exposure to those threats and provide you with a safer banking experience.

  1. Keep the card sensitive information (16-digit card number, expiry date and CVC2/CVV2) at most confidential, do not provide your card sensitive information to any untrusted application, website and non-secured website without HTTPS.
  2. Never take a picture or screenshot of your card and share it with anyone.
  3. Never provide full card sensitive information to anyone, even those claiming to be Phillip Bank staff.
  4. Never share OTP, PIN code, provided by Phillip bank via SMS, to anyone and never provide anyone with the information for registering Phillip Bank mobile banking app.
  5. Regularly check your balance against your actual purchase.

Phillip Bank will never contact you or assign anyone on behalf to contact you via email/SMS for your Virtual Mastercard sensitive information. Shall you receive any hoax/suspicious email or text claiming to be from Phillip Bank, it is advised that you:

  1. Do NOT click on any unexpected/unusual links or open attachments.
  2. Delete the message from your inbox.
  3. Report to our contact centre at 086 930 000 / 089 989 818 immediately.

If you suspect that someone who calls and asks for your card information is a scammer, please block your card immediately and contact Phillip Bank contact centre
